No Shame!

I get such a kick out of the Game of Thrones nun chanting "Shame.  Shame."  I mean, if only we could laugh at that little voice that can chant in our minds like that - it's the same damn thing.  So - that's my new goal - no shame - positive thoughts - don't criticize what you're working on - support each other!

Side Pony, The Shelley Doty X-tet, Easy Queen - free show!

El Rio, 3158 Mission St (@ Cesar Chavez), San Francisco, CA 94110

Free queer party!

Join us for a fun night of music, community, dancing, and rocking out.

Side Pony: Side Pony is an Oakland-based indie rock group inspired by queer punk, Dolly Parton, 80s ballads, & too many Virgo songwriters to count.

The Shelley Doty X-tet Led by Shelley Doty, the X-tet is an eclectic group of bad-asses playing slamming rock with a jazz attitude. SDX features Angeline Saris on Bass, and Denise Martin on Drums - No limits, no wrong answers, and spanking good time with energy through the roof.

Easy Queen: Easy Queen is three fierce, feminist, funny females forging fabulously funky rock. For real. On the dusty road between PJ Harvey and Portishead, you’ll find Easy Queen singing in harmony, groovin' hard, and making love to their audience.

***Please note that the restrooms at El Rio are not ADA accessible and do not have grab bars. We can coordinate with Virgil's (the bar next door) to make sure those who need an ADA restroom have access. The doors, show space, and most of the club at El Rio are wheelchair accessible, as is the back deck, though the yard is not.

***Please come to the show SCENT FREE to support access for folks with chemical sensitivities. Though the venue is not fragrance free and is open to the public, so we can't promise a fully scent free space. See for some hot tips on showing up fragrance free.

Erasure-Esque- A Live Tribute To Erasure

Erasure-esque is The Essential Live Tribute to The synth pop iconic duo...Erasure!

When two "rocker moms" decided to start a band, MILF was born! Now six lovely ladies play songs you grew up hearing, and some originals tunes as well. Based in Berkeley, California, MILF has played shows all over the bay area. Don't miss the next MILF show - it's always a treat!

Steel Hotcakes

70's Classic Rock & Prog interspersed with original Alt Rock. Crowd-pleasing guitar shredding, four-part vocal harmonies, rockin' rhythms and really good whale jokes. Influenced by Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Linda Ronstadt, Willie Nelson, and strange sound effects!

Ivy Room 860 San Pablo Ave Albany, CA, 94706

The She's, Easy Queen, Gina Villalobos, Amee Chapman

Ivy Room , 860 San Pablo Ave, Albany, CA 94706

THE SHE'S San Francisco's favorite all female garage rippers. Mixing reverb-drenched jangly guitars with sun-soaked harmonies reminiscent of 60’s pop and surf bands, along with a plethora of influences from more fuzzed-out contemporary artists, The She’s have crafted a sound replete with emotion and sound: sometimes happy-go-lucky, sometimes gloomy/melancholy, all around brilliant; a testament to the city they were born and raised in.

EASY QUEEN EQ's distinctive songs reflect a blend of sad bastard songs, singing in harmony, long delay guitar solos, playing in the pocket, and gettin'outta town. On the dusty road between PJ Harvey and Portishead, you'll find Easy Queen singing in harmony, grooving hard, and making love to their audience.

GINA VILLALOBOS “Purveyors of the four-minute popular song usually stick to cataloging one emotion. Gina Villalobos' compositions are not quite so simple, coming off the speakers like holographic Cracker Jack surprises that reveal a new depth with the slightest shift in light. Days On Their Side (Face West Records) finds her taking the Lucinda Williams model to a new level. (And it’s about time someone did.) -AMERICAN SONGWRITER MAGAZINE

AMEE CHAPMAN "... Proud daughter of a California that has gone astray, Chapman's working-class background and her respect for the state's oft-forgotten rural denizens mark her as a songwriter with a distinctive voice. Chapman shows a refreshing willingness to push musical boundaries, referencing muscular rock & roll, the expansive sonic textures of Wilco and the faded beauty associated with her pal Jolie Holland's torch songs. Chapman is a brave artist who appears to be poised for bigger things." -SANTA CRUZ WEEKLY.
